The annual LOC is held the fourth weekend in March; for 2009
the dates are March 26-28. This is a good, old fashioned Country
Fair
beginning with a pageant and culminating with a parade, youth livestock show, carnival and a cabrito cook-off.
It is sponsored by the LOC Fair Association.

The annual George West Storyfest will be held November 7, 2009.
Storyfest is a festival dedicated to the art of storytelling. Always held
on the 1st Saturday in November, this family-oriented event draws thousands to enjoy various forms of storytelling, musical entertainment, dancers, craft demonstrations, arts & crafts and traditional
festival food. Sunday closes out the weekend with sacred stories told in
partnership with a local church
