The annual LOC is held the fourth weekend in March; for 2008
the dates are March 27-29. This is a good, old fashioned Country
Fair beginning with a beauty pageant and culminating with a rodeo,
parade, youth livestock show, carnival and a cabrito cook-off.

The annual George West Storyfest will be held November 1-2, 2008.
Storyfest is a festival dedicated to the art of storytelling. Always held
on the 1st Saturday in November, we begin on Friday evening with
a chuckwagon dinner & show featuring cowboy poetry, music and
storytelling. On Saturday, the family-oriented event draws thousands
to enjoy various forms of storytelling, musical entertainment, dancers,
craft demonstrations, arts & crafts and traditional festival foods.
Sunday closes out the weekend with sacred stories told in
partnership with a local church
